Electric Juicer

electric juicerAn electric juicer is a device which is used for extracting juice from the pulp or the solid parts of vegetables and fruits automatically. There are mainly two types of electric juicers which are the high-speed juicer machine and the slow turning juicer or also known as wheatgrass juicers. High-speed juicers are appropriate for yielding juice from fruits and vegetables that are hard and tough while slow turning juicer or wheatgrass juicers are especially made in producing juice from soft fruits, vegetables, sprouts, and other delicate greens. Centrifugal, masticating and triturating are three different types of mechanisms in electric juicer. In a centrifugal juicer it uses blades where a sieve is provided for separating the juice from the solid part. Masticating on the other hand “chews” the fruit then squeezing the juice from the pulp. Triturating juicer meanwhile uses twin gears to crush the fruit and finally press the juice out from the pulp. Some juicers may either have an automatic eject pulp which instantly remove the solid part or manual removal in which solid particles are placed in a small basket where it is removed by hand.

Juicing out vegetables and fruits are the most inexpensive, safest and quickest way to get the most vitamins and minerals. Drinking rights amount of vegetable and fruit juices daily boosts the immune system and helps in proper digestion. A juice diet is also beneficial in detoxifying the body. Bodily functions such as digestion are helped in healing and cleaning itself when there is a temporary halt in digesting solid foods.

Listed below are some electric juicer models with their particular features:

Masticating wheatgrass juicer. This type of juicer starts the process of juicing by masticating or grounding solid food. When this is finished, the masticated solid food is then squeezed until juice is extracted. Wheatgrass juicer’s advantage over other electric juicer models is that it is quieter while it is used and is not messy making it easier to clean.

Centrifugal juicer. The centrifugal juicer is the most common and most available juicer in the market. The process starts on first grating the solid food into a pulp then with centrifugal force it pushes the produced pulp spinning in a high RPM against a strainer screen. One of the advantages of this type of juicer is of its ability to juice large and uncut fruits and vegetables quickly. But has a hard time juicing leafy vegetables and yields less juice than other models.

Twin-gear juicer. The twin gear juicer uses the process of triturating. Two rotating gear rotates inward that crushes or grind solid food to produce juice yield. The twin gear juicer has many advantages over other electric juicer models. Because of the low speed of 80-160 RPM it is quieter than most models and will not disrupt the cellular structure of its produce. It also maintains a cool temperature on fruit and vegetable juices produced.
